Margaux Williamson
Solo presentation at Independent

Spring Studios
50 Varick Street
New York, NY

Bradley Ertaskiran is pleased to feature Margaux Williamson at Independent, New York, from May 8 to 11, 2025.

Williamson’s oil paintings blur memory, fiction, and perception, drawing from intimate scenes of her home, studio, city streets, and the natural world. Sitting between precision and abstraction, her work explores absence and presence, distance and closeness—evoking a sense of suspension between perspectives.

Williamson is a Toronto-based artist, writer, and filmmaker who has exhibited extensively. Recent solo exhibitions include White Cube (Hong Kong); Inside the White Cube online; The McMichael Canadian Art Collection (Kleinburg); the Esker Foundation (Calgary); Bradley Ertaskiran (Montreal); and Museum London (London, Canada). She has also been featured in group exhibitions at James Cohan (New York), the Agnes Etherington Art Centre (Kingston), the Art Museum at the University of Toronto, and Frith Street Gallery (London, UK). Her work is held in public and private collections including the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa); McMichael Canadian Art Collection (Kleinburg); Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (Montreal); Longlati Foundation (Shanghai); and Tumurun Museum (Indonesia).
