Santiago Tamayo Soler
Biography
Santiago Tamayo Soler (b. 1990, Bogotá, Colombia) is a Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice centers on world-building, crafting digitally constructed universes that intertwine video, photography, and online-found images. With a background in performance art and film, he holds a BFA from Concordia University. Recent screenings and exhibitions have been staged at California Center for the Arts Museum (Escondido), Espacio Odeón (Bogotá), Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (Quebec City), Centre Clark (Montreal), Canadian Cultural Centre (Paris), Trinity Square Video (Toronto), Bradley Ertaskiran (Montreal), The Polygon Gallery (Vancouver), and Fondation PHI (Montreal). He was artist-in-residence at Virreina (Boyacá), the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Dazibao (Montreal), and PHI (Montreal). He is the recipient of EQ Bank’s Emerging Digital Artists Award and the MNBAQ Contemporary Art Award.
